Dear BCPS Parent / Guardian:
We hope you have enjoyed your summer, but the new school year will be here soon! Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) continues to offer healthy meals every day. During the pandemic, the USDA made it possible for school nutrition programs to serve all students free breakfast and lunch. Congress did not extend this program for the upcoming school year, so meals are no longer available free of charge to all students across the country.
Due to the expiration of that federal program, we will resume the use of Free and Reduced Meal Applications in about half of our schools throughout the county. The other half will operate under the new CEP Program, where meal applications are not used.
Who needs to apply?Everyone should apply for meal benefits unless your child attends a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school. At CEP schools, all meals are provided at no cost to all students. If there are any students in your household attending a non-CEP school, please submit a Household Meal Benefit Application (HMBA). If applicable, please complete your meal application as soon as possible at www.myschoolapps.com. Applications will not be processed for students that attend a CEP school.
Please visit our webpage at Food and Nutrition Services - Division of Business Services (bcps.org)for a list of Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) Schools or contact your child’s school.
When should I apply? As soon as possible! The application is available now. Check this off your to-do list before going back to school, when so many other things are happening! The information you provide is confidential and your application will be processed upon receipt.
How do I provide money for my student? Every student has an account. To add funds to your student’s meal account to purchase meals, snacks, and beverages, please visit www.MySchoolBucks.com. Don’t worry about lost snack money ever again!
If you have any questions, or need assistance please call 443-809-7855 or email [email protected].
Sincerely,
Ms. Jaime L. Hetzler
