The Project Management Office (PMO) defines and maintains the standards of process and procedures, as it relates to project management within the Department of Information Technology. The vision of the DoIT PMO is to assist each operational office by ensuring that the correct projects are selected and performed in alignment with the BCPS Blueprint for Progress 2.0 goals. The PM Office strives to improve project efficiency as well as standardize and introduce economies of repetition in the execution of projects. The PM Office is the source of documentation, project communication, consistency, efficiency, guidance and metrics on the practice of project management and execution.

Project Management Office Objectives:
  • Provides effective and equitable project management services and business analysis concepts and assist BCPS stakeholders in evaluating existing business processes for improvement and cost savings.
  • Establishes and continually improves the consistency, predictability and efficiency of the organization’s project delivery capability by providing leadership and best practices.
  • Supports the implementation and change management for BCPS’ priority projects by providing project management, communication, and oversight.
  • Supports cross-functional district wide initiatives to improve system-wide process improvements and data efficiencies.
