W-2 statements were mailed to employees on March 1, 2021.  BCPS has applied to the IRS for a filing extension due to the ransomware attack.  If granted, this extension will not apply to individual taxpayers.  BCPS employees must file timely individual returns by April 15, 2021 or should seek tax advice and/or file an individual extension.  Due the nature of the forms used information for both MD and PA is listed in boxes 15 through 18.  Employees should file their taxes in the appropriate state.

 The Office of Payroll is a part of the Department of Fiscal Services and is responsible for processing the payrolls of over 18,000 full-time and part-time employees and issues over 22,000 W2 forms at year end.  The office prepares and disburses vendor payments, payroll taxes, voluntary deductions, and wage attachments; maintains the systems' salary and leave tables; tracks employee leave usage.
